You didn't answer my question, but I'll answer yours: The two options are limiting immigration (which we have always done in one way or another) and shutting down the borders (which we have never done). Illegal immigration isn't a choice--it's a problem. Like speeding or anything else, the laws against it don't stop it. Get more border patrol agents and they get in. Build a wall and they climb over or dig under or come in some other way. So answer my questions: What do you think is going to happen to the illegal population if coming here legally is more difficult? And, what are the logical reasons why it's better to have immigrants come here legally rather than illegally?
